Birmingham is where we are from and where most of our work is. Our office is on Buckingham Street in the Jewellery Quarter, between the city centre and Hockley, and from there the whole city is a short drive: the offices of Colmore Row and Brindleyplace, the restaurants and bars of Digbeth and the Chinese Quarter, the clinics and consulting rooms of Edgbaston and Harborne, the industrial estates of Aston, Nechells, Tyseley and Witton, and the flats and HMOs of Selly Oak, Moseley and Erdington.
What we do in Birmingham
All six of our services, for commercial clients only:
- Electrical installations: fit-outs, distribution upgrades, rewires, lighting and the periodic inspection of offices, shops, clinics, venues and industrial units.
- Fire alarm systems designed to BS 5839-1, installed, commissioned and serviced every six months.
- Emergency lighting to BS 5266-1, with the annual test done and recorded.
- Networking and structured cabling: Cat6A, fibre, cabinets, switches and Wi-Fi.
- Access control and door entry for offices, practices and blocks of flats.
- CCTV installed with the ICO guidance in mind.
The buildings Birmingham gives us
The city has every kind of commercial building at once. In the Jewellery Quarter and Digbeth the work is often in a converted workshop or a listed factory: old fabric, surface containment that has to be neat because it will be seen, and a fire strategy that the conversion has to satisfy. In the city centre it is office floors in modern blocks, done out of hours to a main contractor's programme. In Edgbaston and Harborne it is medical and dental practices, planned around clinic days. On the estates to the north and east it is three-phase, machinery and high-bay lighting. We are set up for all of it because we have been doing all of it here.
Response
Being based in B19 means a planned visit anywhere in the city can usually be offered within a few working days, and a call-out when something has failed is usually answered the same day. The city's traffic is what it is; we leave early.
