Silsoe is a village on the A6 between Bedford and Luton, with Wrest Park on one side and farmland on the other, and the work in and around it is small and particular: a clinic, a farm office, a village hall, a pub, a converted barn, a school. We cover Silsoe, Shillington, Barton-le-Clay, Shefford, Meppershall and the villages between from the same visits as Ampthill and Flitwick, and we treat a one-room job with the same care as a warehouse.
What we do around Silsoe
- Electrical installations for practices, farm buildings, workshops, village halls and offices in converted buildings, including three-phase supplies for agricultural and workshop machinery, and EICRs.
- Fire alarms for practices, halls, pubs and let property, with interlinked Aico alarms in HMOs and flats as an Aico Expert Installer.
- Emergency lighting for halls, pubs and practices.
- Networking and Wi-Fi, including the long runs and point-to-point wireless links a farm or a spread-out site needs.
- Access control and gate automation controls for yards and practices.
- CCTV for yards, barns, car parks and practices, with the signage and retention set lawfully.
Rural sites
A farm or a rural business has long cable runs, outbuildings on their own supplies, machinery with heavy starting loads and a power supply that may already be at its limit. We survey the supply before we design, specify cabling and protection for the distances involved, and use wireless links where trenching would cost more than it is worth. Detection and CCTV are designed for buildings that are open on one side and full of dust.
Practices and village premises
The clinics, practices, schools and halls in the villages get the same treatment as those in town: planned around opening hours, documented for the regulator, handed over with the certificate and maintained on a schedule we keep.
