Northampton is an hour down the M1 and the first town of our second patch, which runs from here through Bedfordshire to Watford. We are on that road every week, so a planned job in Northampton is run day to day like one in Birmingham, and a call-out for a client we look after is answered the same day. The town is distribution and logistics at Brackmills, Swan Valley and the junction 15 and 16 parks, offices and light industry at Moulton Park and Round Spinney, a busy town centre and the university quarter, and a great deal of managed residential.
What we do in Northampton
- Electrical installations for warehouses, offices, shops, clinics and practices: distribution, lighting, dock and yard power, EICRs and the remedial work from them.
- Fire alarms across large logistics floors (beam detection, interfaces to shutters and sprinklers) and in offices, shops and HMOs.
- Emergency lighting installed and tested annually.
- Networking: fibre between cabinets in a shed, Wi-Fi designed for scanners, cabling for offices and practices.
- Access control on gates, yards, offices and residential blocks.
- CCTV and ANPR on yards and car parks, lobbies and bin stores.
Logistics at Brackmills and the M1 parks
Distribution buildings are what Northampton builds most of, and they have a particular list: dock levellers and shutters on protected supplies, forklift charging bays with the right supply and ventilation, high-bay lighting designed around the racking that will be there rather than the empty floor, Wi-Fi that works in the aisles, and detection that sees across the span without false-alarming on dust. We design for the building as it will be used.
Town centre, practices and landlords
In the town, Kingsthorpe, Abington and Duston the work is offices, dental and medical practices, restaurants and converted houses let as flats and HMOs, with the same approach we take everywhere: planned around trading hours, certificated at handover, maintained on a schedule we keep. See healthcare and dental and landlords and property management.
